Stabbing Hospitalizes Fort Smith Woman

Fort Smith police are searching for a man they say stabbed a woman in the arm Monday night.

Officers responded to a call at 5900 Kinkead Ave. concerning a black male stabbing a 23-year-old woman at about 7:30 p.m.

Markita Bella was rushed to Sparks Regional Medical Center from Timberline Apartments. Her injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.

The suspect is described as a short, heavy-set black man with cornrows.

Police followed blood droplets to an apartment where they believe the stabbing took place.
