Pastor Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Underage Girls
A Lavaca man identifying himself as a pastor was arrested Wednesday and accused of sexually assaulting two preteen girls.
Hector Mendez, 62, admitted to deputies during a disturbance call that he touched a 10-year-old girl and 12-year-old girl on their breast area on several occasions, according to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Mendez and an underage boy were arguing about the alleged sexual assaults when they arrived at the man’s home.
Mendez was arrested in connection with two counts of felony second-degree sexual assault and taken to the Sebastian County Detention Center, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
Mendez listed himself as a pastor on his booking information, but did not identify a church.
