The No. 1 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide defeated SEC West rival Arkansas 52-0 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville on Saturday.

Running back Eddie Lacy rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries for the defending national champions and scored three of the team’s six touchdowns. The Crimson Tide amassed 438 total yards. Arkansas passed and rushed for a combined 139 yards.

Arkansas played without starting quarterback Tyler Wilson. Wilson suffered a hit to the head in the first half of the Hogs’ loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 8 in Little Rock.

In the week following that game, head coach John L. Smith said Wilson had concussion-like symptoms and was groggy.

Wilson dressed out for the game against Alabama and even warmed up before kickoff, but Smith announced on national television just before the game began that Wilson would not play.

Arkansas’ quarterback duties were handled by Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell, who passed for a combined 81 yards.
