An Arkansas girl proving that she's pretty good at hoggin' the spotlight.

Ashlyn Metheny is a finalist in a web-based talent show called "Take the Stage." She's asking for your votes and support.

"A ton of people entered the contest and they came up with 9 finalists based on voting," Metheny said. "We got flown out to Detroit for ten days to film this whole web series."

The show is unscripted, featuring original song material. One of the songs featured by Ashlyn is called "Mascara Meltdown."

On the show Ashlyn got to work with Jonathan Wright who has worked with the Backstreet Boys and Justin Timberlake.

"Basically the winner gets a recording contract with him being their manager. It's a really big deal and people are voting every day," Metheny said.

"I've already met a producer I'm working with and he's been working on my album release that's coming out in a month or so. I've been working hard, performing wherever I can and trying to make a name for myself out there," she said.

The show has already finished taping, but fan voting will determine the winner.
A new episode airs every week, and it ends in October.
