A professor at the University of Arkansas won a regional Emmy award last night in Kansas City, Mo., for a documentary he and another Fayetteville resident produced.

Larry Foley and Jim Borden won the Mid-America Emmy for Special Program for their documentary Growing Hope. The award was presented Saturday night at a gala.

Foley is a Journalism professor at the UA.

Growing Hope is the story of Fitz Hill, a former Arkansas assistant football coach and president of Arkansas Baptist College, who brought growth and stability to the college and the surrounding Little Rock neighborhood, once fraught with drugs and gang violence.

The Mid-American Emmys are a chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
