Fayetteville police early Sunday arrested a 26-year-old man they say fired a handgun at another person on South Dead Horse Mountain Road.

Eduardo Sicajan Lopez, booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 7:22 a.m. Sunday, faces charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threatening, according to the Sheriff’s Office website.

Police said Lopez emerged from the woods and approached a man in a car dropping a friend off at Lopez’s home at 2237 S. Dead Horse Mountain Road late Saturday around midnight.

Lopez told the man in the car he hates Mexicans, then fired a six-shot silver Rossi revolver three times, including once in the air at least once at the car as it was leaving that address, the report states. Lopez also kicked the car and threw rocks at it, according to the report.

Lopez then walked into a neighbor’s house, waking up  people who had been asleep, the report states. Lopez uttered a threat and was tackled by a man in the house, dropping the handgun. The man picked up the handgun, and Lopez ran into the woods, according to the report.

Police contacted Lopez and arrested him later Sunday, the report states.
