Fight With Jumper Cables Leaves Two Hospitalized, Arrested
Fayetteville police arrested two men they say got into an altercation that left one man bloody and the other struck with jumper cables.
Police responded Monday to a call about a white van with blood on it traveling north on Crossover Road in Fayetteville. When officers stopped the vehicle’s driver, Shawn L. Wilson originally told police he was stabbed before changing his story several times, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Wilson eventually told police a man named Darryon Rowell stole his marijuana. The two got into a fight and Rowell slammed the van door on Wilson’s hand, causing it to bleed. Wilson then retaliated by swinging a pair of jumper cables and striking Rowell in the head, causing him to bleed.
Both men were transported to Washington Regional Medical Center, where they were treated, released and arrested.
Wilson and Rowell face charges of felony aggravated assault. They remain in the Washington County jail awaiting bond hearings, according to the detention center website.
