Police Close Fayetteville Interstate Exit, Search Truck

Fayetteville police closed the Wedington exit off of Interstate 540 early Tuesday evening after making an arrest near the roadway.

Police cars surrounded a white truck just off of Exit 64 at about 6 p.m. and placed a man in handcuffs. Officers took photos of the inside of the vehicle following the arrest, an eyewitness said.

The exit was closed for officers’ safety due to the heavy traffic near the incident and the number of police units on the scene, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
