Couple On Way To Bike Rally Crash Motorcycle, In Fair Condition
Two patients were hospitalized following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 540 on the first day of the Bikes, Blues and BBQ motorcycle rally.
A 65-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, both of Hot Springs, were listed in fair condition at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville on Wednesday night.
The man was driving his red and black Harley-Davidson motorcycle on the interstate just south of Johnson at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday when the rear tire blew out, according to a crash report from the Arkansas State Police. He then lost control of the motorcycle, which careened to the shoulder of the road and fell over, the report states.
The man and woman were rushed to the hospital by Central Emergency Medical Services. The police report describes the man’s injury as “incapacitating”.
The two were on the way to Bikes, Blues and BBQ from Hot Springs, according to the police report.
They were both wearing their helmets.
