Home Depot workers in Fort Smith stepped into the classroom Thursday to help a local children’s center.

Workers helped children on a variety of craft projects throughout the day. Kids First in Fort Smith is a pediatric day health center that serves about 80 kids.

Director Rick Newton said the event helps students understand instruction and develop motor skills.

Children six weeks to five years old can receive physical therapy, speech therapy and preschool instruction at Kids First.
