Man Accused of Taking Deputy’s Wallet
Fort Smith police are looking for a man accused of going on a shopping spree with a Crawford County Sheriff’s deputy’s credit card.
The deputy unknowingly dropped his wallet in the parking lot of the Fort Smith Police Department on 10th Street on Sept. 24, according to a police report.
The deputy later discovered fraudulent purchases had been made on his credit card at Toys R Us and Dillard’s.
Surveillance images from one of the stores shows a man wearing tan colored shoes, khaki pants, and a San Francisco 49ers t-shirt with a black, long sleeved t-shirt underneath and light colored baseball hat. Police are not sure of the man’s race, but a store clerk reported the suspect is a black man with a light complexion.
