Fort Coffee Murder Suspect Denied Bond

FORT SMITH (KTHV) – A man accused in a slaying in LeFlore County, Okla., has again been denied bond, even though a prosecutor sought a delay in a hearing because he needs to bring witnesses in from out of town.

A lawyer for 26-year-old Christopher Kenyon Simpson of Fort Coffee, Okla., argued Thursday that his client has ties to the community and had turned himself in when he learned police were looking for him.

But Special Judge Jeff Singer said he’d consider bond at a preliminary hearing on Simpson’s two first-degree murder counts. Singer pushed the hearing to Nov. 1.

Simpson is charged with the April killing of 20-year-old Ka’Loni Marie Flynn of Fort Smith and the subsequent death of her 12-week-old fetus.

Simpson has pleaded not guilty.
