A Fayetteville couple was arrested during a Sunday walk after police say they found drugs and paraphernalia in the stroller holding the couple’s children.

Cody Reed and Amber Reynolds, both 22, were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of minors. Reed also faces a charge of felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reed remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Monday on $152,590 bond because of a contempt of court charge. Reynolds remained in jail on $1,600 bond.

Police said the couple had their two babies in a stroller and were walking around a house in Fayetteville. The homeowner became concerned and called the police. When officers arrived, Reed and Reynolds said they were thinking about renting the house, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Officers searched the stroller holding the children and found a metal spoon, syringe and Oxycodone next to the children’s food supply, police said. Police also found more Oxycodone in the couple’s diaper bag, the preliminary report states.

Reed and Reynolds were arrested, and the children’s grandmother was called to collect the babies.
