A Red Hot Start for Arkansas Volleyball

With a 13-3 record, the Arkansas Women’s Volleyball team is off to one of their best starts in program history.

The Arkansas Women’s Volleyball team is off to one of their best starts in program history.  As the second half of the season begins they look to continue that success in order to accomplish their goals.

"Our team goals are win the SEC, right now we are first in the West, we have a huge game on Friday" said Senior Amanda Anderson. "We want to make it to the NCAA tournament.  It’s been awhile we want to make sure we put a banner in Barnhill Arena."

It’s been 6 years since the team last raised a banner in Barnhill Arena, but that could all change this season.  Everyone is aware of how talented this team is skill wise, but it’s a non-physical element that the team possesses that is going to help them hopefully make the NCAA tournament and raise a banner in Barnhill.

"Overall we are such a good team together and I think our chemistry shows on the court and its gotten us where we are today." Junior Emily Helm stated.

"We are a great unit, that’s what we keep talking about." Said Coach Robert Pulliza.  "We want people to remember us as a great team, not because of the kills and blocks, but because of the unit we are"

That chemistry the team is talking about is going to be vital as they head into the thick of their conference schedule over the next few weeks.

"People don’t have that high of aspirations for us, but I think we have what it takes to be the best in the SEC and make it to the tournament." Said Helm.  "We want to make history here."

The team hits the road this weekend to face conference foes Florida and Ole Miss.  They return home to Barnhill Arena Friday October 12th.
