Insect Festival Draws Buzz From Students
Hundreds of students in Northwest Arkansas were really bugged today.
School groups from across the region took a field trip to the 13th Arkansas Insect Festival at the University of Arkansas’ Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center.
The one-day free event featured an insect zoo, cockroach races, insect movies and a beekeeping exhibit.
The purpose of the annual festival is to teach students about the insect world in a setting they say is also an awful lot of fun.
The insect festival usually draws 1,500 to 4,000 students, and always generates lots of buzz.
