Talley Dominates State Tournament
Madison tallying has been playing golf ever since her Dad introduced her to the sport when she was 8 years old. Ten years later she is still playing the sport she loves and is dominating across the state of Arkansas.
Madison’s high school career has been nothing short of spectacular. She is a 4x District Champion, a 3x State Champion in her Division, a 3x time All-State Performer, and will likely add a 4th All-State Performance once this season comes to an end.
“I’m proud of all she accomplished as an individual” Said Coach Tony Davis. “She is the type of young lady that we all want our kids to be like. Her work ethic and devotion to what she does is incredible.”
Her work ethic and devotion to the sport of golf has allowed her to succeed in ways many high school golfers have never done before. While all of her accomplishments have been important to her, it was her performance at the state tournament last week that has been her fondest golf memory at Clarksville.
“Throughout my career I have never shot in the 60’s, but in the last state tournament I shot a 68.” Said Madison Talley. “It was crazy, all junior golfers want to shoot in the 60’s and get in red numbers because that is what colleges notice. I was so happy to finally be able to do that in my last state tournament.”
Her impressive 68 was 11 shots better than the state runner-up. College coaches all over the country have had their eyes on Madison for years. She has verbally committed to play golf at Kansas State next fall.
“I really didn’t want to like it when I went up there, but when I got there I loved the girls and the coach.” Said Madison of her trip of Kansas State. “It has everything I ever wanted in a college and I fell in love with it.”
Golf is something Madison see’s in her life for a very long time. Keep an eye out for this young lady in the Ladies Professional Golf League in the near future.
“Anything to do with golf, but I definitely want to go professional, and the coach at Kansas State will definitely help me with that.” Stated Madison.
Madison looks to add her 2nd Overall State Title in next week’s All-Around State Tournament in Little Rock.
