Police: Man Threatens Woman With Shotgun, Sings As Arrested
A Greenland man was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he pointed a shotgun at a woman’s head and threatened to kill her.
Brandon Shaffer, 30, faces charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threatening. He was released Thursday from the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond.
Washington County deputies said a woman was taking items out of Shaffer’s home when he started yelling at her that she was ruining his life. Shaffer walked into the bedroom and aimed a shotgun at the woman’s head, saying he would just kill her now, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
The woman ducked behind a dresser and called police, while Shaffer put the shotgun on the bed and said it wasn’t loaded, the woman told deputies.
She then retreated to the bathroom, and Shaffer began kicking the door, the woman said.
Shaffer calmed down when the woman’s mother entered the home, and Shaffer walked out, the report states.
Deputies arrived on-scene and arrested Shaffer, who sang, “She may have won the battle, she may have won the battle, but I’ll win the war,” while the squad car pulled away.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office retrieved the shotgun and placed it into evidence.
