Police arrested a Fayetteville man after they say he raped a four-year-old boy.

Jack Hunter Waddle, 38, was arrested on suspicion of felony rape. He was later released from the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

Police said the four-year-old boy told his mother Waddle would engage in sexual activity with him. The Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division was contacted, and a counselor was brought in to speak with the child.

Following an interview, police made contact with Waddle, who did not deny allegations, but said he would not admit to them, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

“I don’t know if something happened or not,” Waddle reportedly told police. “If something happened, I never planned it, and it would have been in my sleep.”

Waddle later asked for an attorney and was arrested.
