Suspect And Victim In Fatal Hartford Shooting Identified
Eric Wooten, 44, was released from custody after giving a statement to police following a shooting Sunday night that left one man dead, according to a statement released Monday by the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.
Police suspect Wooten of shooting and killing Danny Massey, 44, in Hartford.
Deputies found three men at the scene when they responded to a home in the 4800 block of Highway 96 around 7 p.m., according to Investigator Philip Pevehouse. One of the men was trying to perform CPR on Massey, who was lying on the ground with a fatal gunshot wound.
The Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
Eric and Brandi Wooten are listed in public documents as living at the residence.
Deputies said Sunday they believed the shooting happened after an argument. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
Authorities did not immediately release the name of the third man at the scene.
