Crawford County law enforcement officials are notifying residents of two registered Level 4 sex offenders who recently moved into the county.
Adam Fernandez, 37, was released on probation from a federal prison on Saturday, according to Prosecutor Marc McCune. Fernandez was charged with forcible sodomy in 1993, rape in 1996 in Oklahoma. He was also charged in 2012 for failing to register. He’s now registered in Van Buren and lives in the 1100 block of Flat Rock Circle, according to McCune.
Meanwhile, Shannon Boydston, 40, is now living in the area of 8600 Western Drive in Van Buren. He is also a Level 4 sex offender and was convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault, false imprisonment and 1st degree terroristic threatening.
Boydston was released from prison Thursday, Crawford County Deputy Clifford Cope said. Boydston has registered with the county and is on compliance, according to Cope.
Deputies and law enforcement officials are distributing notifications to residents in the areas affected.
Level 4 sex offenders in Arkansas are considered sexually violent predators, according to the Arkansas Crime Information Center. A Level 4 sex offender can not live within 2,000 feet of a school, park, daycare, or youth center.
