Montel Williams Speaks in Little Rock in Support of Medical Marijuana

Talk show host Montel Williams was in Little Rock Thursday to show his support for the legalization of medical marijuana.

Williams appeared at the state Capitol with members of Arkansans for Compassionate Care. The group is campaigning for the legalization measure on the November ballot.

Williams criticized an ad aired by a coalition of conservative groups that opposes the proposal.

Williams suffers from multiple sclerosis and says he uses medical marijuana to treat symptoms of his condition.

The Arkansas measure would allow patients with qualifying conditions to buy marijuana from nonprofit dispensaries with a doctor’s recommendation. If approved, Arkansas would become the first Southern state to legalize medical marijuana.
