osborne arrest construction tools stolen

Police caught up with a Springdale man Wednesday they say stole tools last week from a construction site he was working on Dickson Street in Fayetteville.

Brian Osborne, 48, was arrested on suspicion of felony theft of property. He remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Friday on $3,500 bond.

Police said Osborne was an employee for TCM Enterprises on a construction site at the Fulbright Building at 217 E. Dickson St. when he stole $1,500 worth of construction tools Oct. 9.

Detectives were able to track the stolen tools through a pawn shop database that showed a hit at Big Brothers Pawn in Siloam Springs, said Sgt. Craig Stout of the Fayetteville Police Department.

Police caught up to Osborne, and he admitted to taking the tools and pawning some of them, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Osborne returned some of the tools, including a Hitachi drill and a laser level, the report states.
