Man Hiding In Car Pulls Gun On Driver, Police Say
Police on Thursday arrested a 23-year-old Fayetteville man they say had been hiding in the back seat of a car and pulled a gun on the driver.
Ryan Dewayne Wright of 1151 East Shepard Lane was booked into the Washington County Detention Center Friday morning and faces a felony charges of aggravated robbery, according to county records.
The unnamed driver had gotten into his car after leaving work on Oct. 2, then drove away, stopping at a traffic signal at Zion Road and South College Avenue, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
At the intersection, the 6-foot-7 inch Wright emerged from the back seat and told the driver to get out, records show.
“The victim began screaming and eventually gained the attention from another passerby,” the report states.
Wright pointed a black revolver at the driver before getting out of the car and fleeing, the report states.
He was identified by a Department of Veterans Affairs card discovered on the car’s back seat and was later arrested, according to the report.
