Northwest Arkansas Community College released a list Friday of the top four candidates to take over as president of the school.
A search committee submitted the four recommended finalists to the school’s Board of Trustees at a board meeting Friday afternoon. Board members will interview the final candidates during the first week of November and will likely make a decision the same month, said Wyley Elliot, vice president for public relations and development.
The interviews will include forums with faculty, staff, students and donors, according to a statement released by the community college.
The search committee narrowed its original pool of 30 candidates down to six semifinalists earlier this month. The only NWACC employee to make the semifinalist list was Steven Gates, provost. Gates did not make the final four.
The finalists comes from colleges as far away as Arizona and as close as Arkansas.
Becky Paneitz has been NWACC president since 2003. She plans to retire June 2013.
The finalists are:
Jo Alice Blondin, chancellor at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark
Evelyn Jorgenson, president at Moberly Area Community College, Mo.
Anthony Kinkle, president at Wichita Area Technical College, Kan.
Carol Spencer, executive director of the Academic Program Articulation Steering Committee, Ariz.
