The Oct. 13th EF1 Tornado that struck the west side of Rogers didn't cause enough structural damage to meet the dollar amount required for state or federal disaster aid, according to Benton County officials.
Robert McGowen, Benton County Emergency Management director, said to qualify for state financial aid, the county has to meet a threshold.
"It's around $442,000 in uninsured damages and the people we spoke with all have insurance," McGowen said.
McGowen identified damages to six commercial structures and 40 to 50 homes.
Five commercial structures are on 52nd street and the sixth one is on Olive Street.
"The homes are from Cave Springs to Avoca, which were in the storm's path," McGowen said.
Mayor Greg Hines said the city is almost done with its cleanup efforts.
"We're still involved in limb and foliage debris cleanup, but we should be done in about a week," Hines said.
Hines said if anyone who lives on the path of the tornado has questions about foliage and limb cleanup to contact the Rogers Street Department.
