Man Drives Pink Truck for Breast Cancer Awareness
A local truck driver sports his pink to raise awareness for breast cancer.
At 6 feet 8 inches tall, some might be intimidated by Larry Lowe.
“I been driving for 13 years,” he said.
Take a look at Lowe’s pink wheels. “I volunteered to drive it because of breast cancer awareness,” he said.
Lowe is a guy with a soft side.
“There’s a lot of people that we work with that can relate to this,” he said.
Lowe drives a pink concrete mixer for Mid-Continent Concrete Co. It is one of six pink trucks in the company.
“It’s my billboard for my company,” he said. “It’s what I look at.”
Lowe drives the truck from Northwest Arkansas to the River Valley and even in Oklahoma. He has only had the truck for three months and already put 9,000 miles on it.
“Sometimes I will catch drivers with their cell phones like this you know, getting pictures of the truck and I gotta watch them,” said Lowe.
It takes effort and elbow grease to keep the truck clean.
“It’s the cat’s meow for a big truck, for a mixer truck,” said Lowe.
The truck is not just for show. Lowe hopes bringing attention to the issue may save a life.
