A 17-year-old Hispanic boy was arrested on charges of battery and aggravated assault Friday evening in connection with a possible gang-related shooting.

The teen was taken into custody in the 3900 block of Bradley, Sgt. Daniel Grubbs said.

The charges stem from a shooting  near an apartment complex at North 47th Terrace and Yorkshire. Officers were dispatched to the scene around 3:28 p.m.

Shortly after a Hispanic 15-year-old boy with a graze wound showed up at Sparks Hospital, according to police. The bullet grazed the boy’s head. His injury is non-life threatening, according to Grubbs.

Five shots were fired from a .22 caliber pistol, police said. It's unclear if the shots were fired from a car or from inside the apartment on Yorkshire.

The weapon has not been recovered, Grubbs said.

Grubbs said it’s possible the incident was gang-related, but could not confirm it at this time.
