Arkansas goes for win number four and a realistic shot at still making a bowl game today. Hogs and Rebels kick off at 11:21 in Little Rock. Follow the live blog here:
Now the defense has to prove its worth..27-27 1:50 left
Discipline again kills Hogs; delay of game then unsportsmanlike conduct all on third down.
Another Ole Miss punt. If the Hogs lose, this game is certainly not on the defense.
Boos come out at War Memorial. 3 and out for Arkansas. If Ole Miss gets points on this drive this game is over.
53-yard field goal gives Ole Miss a 7 point lead again, 27-20
Huge sack by Ross Rasner taking Ole Miss close to out of field goal range
Ole Miss runs same play three straight times (simple screen) and Arkansas doesn’t try to stop it.
And now a delay of game on field goal….and then a false start. Discipline starts with coaches.Hocker still makes field goal….24-20 early fourth.
John L calls time out to yell at the ref for the illegal formation? Shouldn’t he be worried about 3rd and 10?
Arkansas gets a touchdown taken off the board with an illegal formation.
End of the third….Arkansas driving, down 24-17
Ole Miss gets field goal out of the interception. Arkansas will certainly take that. 24-17 Ole Miss- late third.
You can tell Wilson has been off all day- another interception ….32 yard return to the redzone.
That’s three straight punts for Ole Miss in the second half.
Austin Flynn makes a great play on third down…junior college transfer finally shining on defense.
Ole Miss getting an awful lot of pressure on Tyler Wilson. If they don’t adapt Arkansas is in trouble. Hogs punt.
Teams trade punts. Hogs get it back with 8:57 left in 3rd, still 21-17.
Knile Davis and Chris Gragg doubtful to return for the second half….Hogs force 3 and out to start.
2nd quarter has destroyed Arkansas…..Rutgers and Alabama outscored the Hogs 51-0 combined in the 2nd quarter. Today 21-7 for Ole Miss.
Ole Miss shows just how to exploit the Arkansas secondary…pitch and catch all the way down the field in hurry up offense…..TD makes its 21-17 Ole Miss with seconds to go in half.
Jared Green now being helped off the field….story of the season for the Arkansas defense
Chris Gragg out of the game with another leg injury…..He injured the leg against Rutgers and hasn’t played since….Currently on the sidelines. Alvin Bailey back in after injuring neck earlier in game.
Wide open TD….first career catch for Alex Voelzke is a touchdown……17-14 Arkansas 1:20 left in half.
Ole Miss 41***
Another 4th down call…4th and 3 from the Ole Miss 4…who else Cobi Hamilton…28 yards on a cross route….Hogs in redzone.
Dennis Johnson on 3rd and 10 on his own 5 bails out the Hogs. If they punt there Ole Miss had excellent chance to distance them selves.
NOTE—–This is the point in every loss where Arkansas has let things get out of hand…..the last 7:30 of this half will be HUGE for the Hogs.
And they cash in. Ole Miss first lead 14-10.
A special teams gaffe…Dylan Breeding’s punt blocked by Charles Sawyer..same guy who intercepted Wilson. Ole Miss knocking on door.
Right Guard Alvin Bailey had to be helped off the field after taking a hit to the head
Ross Rasner returns the favor and intercepts a Bo Wallace pass.
And he finally gets caught on it…Ole Miss interception on their own 4.
Tyler Wilson has gotten pretty lucky with a few balls that should have been intercepted.
Ole Miss throws at will on Arkansas defense. TD makes it 10-7….Tevin Mitchel…another guy coming back from injury (removed gallbladder) was the victim on the TD catch.
Ole Miss gets ball back..Hogs get pressure but Rebels driving…end of first quarter 10-0
Ole Miss drives…fumbles on Arkansas 30…Jared Green recovers. Turnovers the Hogs didn’t get in the losing streak….
Wilson getting pressured a lot early…Ole Miss has forced a lot of awkward throws but Wilson making the big ones count.
Welcome back Chris Gragg. 42-yard TD…. first catch back after being injured for a month…10-0 5:33 left in the first
Hogs get bailed out on defensive holding call to keep second drive alive.
Hogs force punt on 3rd and long…..with all the injuries at linebacker and young secondary forcing third and long will be key to getting off the field for the rest of the year.
Hogs first drive stalls at the 3- 4th and 1 ….no gamble this time…3-0 Arkansas 4 minutes in.
Gutsy Paul Petrino goes for 4th and 11 on Ole Miss 35 and gets it….Cobi Hamilton on a post.
Dennis Johnson gets the nod at running back to start….coaches have been saying they’ll go with whoever has the hot hand. Johnson starts well with two nice runs on first drive.
Arkansas gets the ball to start the game. Stands look full for kickoff–a little surprising for 11am.
The last time Tyler Wilson played an SEC opponent in Little Rock he set the school record for completions with 32.
Wide receiver Brandon Mitchell will not play today because of a violation of team rules. We will check what Mitchell did.
