5NEWS Fit: Everyday Arm Exercises

Gabby Mooney with G-Fit and our very own Heather Lewis show some great arm exercises you can try at home!

If you want to have toned arms in time for the holidays, check out these exercises.

All you need is two five pound weights and a chair.

The first move is a bicep curl. Just drop your arms down and bring it up in a curl move. Be sure to keep your chest up! Gabby recommends doing three sets of eight.

  

Move two: Put the palms of your hands on the edge of a chair, dip to a 90 degree angle facing away from the chair, drop down then come back up. You may even feel this in your abs if you stay tight!

  

Move three: The classic push-up. This move it great for your arms and core. If you find it a little difficult, you can modify the push-up by doing it on your knees. Gabby says to try and touch your nose to the ground with each rep.

Move four: Grab the weights again. Create a 90 degree angle with your arms. Move the weights in front of your face then slowly swing them back out to your 90 degree angle.

  

Move five: Start the same 90 degree angle you began move four. This time you’re going to move the weights up over your head. Keep your posture up throughout this move. You can also combine moves four and five.

You can do these moves at work or even during a commercial break!

Gabby recommends alternating the moves. Do three sets of eight, 10, or 20. Start off slow then work your way up and say goodbye to the arm jiggle!
