A drunken hit-and-run accident sent a motorcyclist to the hospital Friday afternoon in Springdale, police said.

Emergency crews responded to the collision at 2:09 p.m. Police said a Dodge Stratus traveling southbound on Thompson Street turned left into County Line Liquors in front of a motorcycle heading northbound.

The motorcycle collided with the car, and the operator was sent to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale in stable condition, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

Police said the car drove off before officers responded to the scene. It was later found on Wagon Wheel Road near Interstate-540, said Lt. Derek Hudson with the Springdale Police Department in a statement.

Deannia Pelt, 33, of Rogers, was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, careless driving and driving while intoxicated.

Police are investigating the crash and will release the name and condition of the motorcyclist at a later time, Hudson said.
