Former Arkansas standout and NFL Pro Bowl safety Ken Hamlin was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated Saturday morning.

A Fayetteville police officer said in a preliminary report that he saw a black SUV swerving from lane to lane on Wedington Drive at approximately 2:50 a.m. The driver, who was identified as Hamlin, had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, the police report said.

The report said Hamlin, 31, did poorly on a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was booked at the Washington County Detention Center and released later Saturday on $910 bond.

He faces charges of driving while intoxicated and violation of implied consent after he refused to take a breath analyzer test, the report said. Hamlin has a Dec. 14 court date.

Hamlin set the school record for career tackles with 381 at Arkansas before being selected by Seattle in the second round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He was selected to play in the Pro Bowl as a member of the Dallas Cowboys following the 2007 season.
