Kentucky Football Coach Not To Return

Joker Phillips Will Be Relieved Of Duties Following Season
Kentucky

Rumors have swirled all season long that Joker Phillips would be relieved of his duties as soon as the season ended.

Those rumors became reality on Sunday.

The University of Kentucky informed Phiilips and the Wildcats’ fan base on Sunday that the coach would not be back after this season. Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart announced the decision in a letter on the school’s athletic website.

Kentucky has lost eight straight games, including Saturday’s 40-0 home loss to Vanderbilt.

Phillips is 12-23 in three seasons but will finish the season as coach. Kentucky is currently 1-9, with the lone win against Kent State on Sept. 8. The Wildcats are off this week before finishing the season against Samford and at Tennessee.

Now the rumors of Bobby Petrino to Kentucky will surely start to heat up.
