Police arrested a Fayetteville man they say stole a woman’s shirt and prescription drugs after spending the night at her home.

A woman told police Jacob Frey, 23, came to her apartment to watch a movie before they went to bed. She awoke in the middle of the night to find Frey wearing her “Coconut Bay” shirt and going through her closet, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

The woman went back to sleep and found her prescription bottle of Clonazepam missing when she woke up. Police later went to Frey’s apartment, where he told officers he took 30 pills from the woman’s home and consumed 10 of them, the report states.

Frey was treated at the Washington Regional Medical Center Emergency Room before being arrested. He remains in the Washington County Detention Center on $2,500 bond, facing charges of felony theft of property and tampering with evidence for allegedly flushing pills down the sink when police knocked on his door.

Police later found several more items in Frey’s apartment belonging to the alleged victim, including nine shirts, a belt, three DVDs, a video game and a digital camera, all worth about $1,200. Frey told detectives he gets “sticky fingers” when he consumes pills.
