Fayetteville police arrested a man they say was found with marijuana and almost $11,000 in cash during a traffic stop.
Joshua McClure Aaron, 18, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released Friday from the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
An officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from Aaron’s GMC Sierra pickup during a traffic stop. Police searched the vehicle and found 15 grams of marijuana, 23 grams of hash and $10,980 in cash stuffed in a backpack and Claritin box, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police also found digital scales in the truck. Officers confiscated all items as evidence and arrested Aaron at the scene.
