The Greenwood Garden Club dedicated the Blue Star Memorial on Sunday afternoon in the downtown square.

The memorial resembles the blue star in service flag design that represents when families have a loved one serving in the military. Greenwood's memorial is one of 30 Blue Star Memorials in the state.

The Greenwood Garden Club raised the $1,200 needed to bring the memorial to Greenwood.

"This is National's oldest and most revered project, and we are so pleased to have it in our own Veterans Park here because we feel like this is the perfect place for it," said Nancy Keisman, president of the Arkansas Federation of Garden Clubs.
