An Aussie living in Farmington is about to make the biggest splash of his professional career.
Scott Gardiner is positive proof that it's never too late to chase your dreams right down the fairway.
He's earned his PGA Tour card for next season, The Big Leagues, by playing consistently well in golf's minor leagues.
"I play the Web.Com tour and I guess there is probably about 300 people over the course of a year that play and the Top-25 from that tour get to go to the PGA Tour."
Scott will be a 36 year old PGA Tour rookie, but he's been preparing for this golden opportunity his entire life.
Next season he'll start the year in Hawaii, playing alongside many of his golfing buddies he's played with over the years.
"It's pretty cool. I've played everywhere in the world. I played in Europe from 2001 to 2003. I've played in Asia, Japan, and the Australian tour. I've played with a lot of better players like Ernie Els, Sergio, Nick Faldo, and Adam Scott. But to be seen week to week is going to be pretty neat."
Scott grew up an Aussie along the Gold Coast, but now he's an Arkie living in Farmington.
He met his wife after missing the cut at the pro event in Fort Smith.
"I think it was the second year I played on the Web.com tour I met my wife after a missed cut at some of the concerts in Fort Smith. It was a great event we had. We met and started to get along and we got married. She lived in Farmington and this is where we live."
Scott feels blesssed to be able to work on his game at ''The Blessings Golf Club'' with the full support of course owner John Tyson.
He'll be gone a little bit more next year because there are so many more tournaments on the PGA tour.
Each time he tees it up, it'll be his golfing dream come true.
