Fayetteville police arrested two men they say broke into a house and held the residents at gunpoint.

Charles Glover, 34, and Charles Jackson, 24, were arrested Saturday night on suspicion of aggravated residential burglary, second-degree battery, theft of property and other related charges. Glover remains in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond, while Jackson remains in the jail on $15,685 bond.

Police said Glover and Jackson entered a home at 1265 Chinaberry Lane shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday and kept demanding to know the location of a “package.” Two alleged victims told officers Jackson struck them with a curtain rod.

The suspects also took money from the victims and kept them at gunpoint for part of the night, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

A bystander looking in the home’s window saw one of the suspects with a gun and called police, the report states.

Glover and Jackson tried to hide their guns in the refrigerator when police responded to the scene, according to the report. Jackson said he was smoking marijuana, when “all of a sudden” he was arrested. Glover admitted to the incident, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Officers took photographs and collected firearms, phones, money, curtain rods and a baseball bat at the scene.
