Two teens were arrested in Van Buren Tuesday afternoon when a neighbor caught them trying to break into a home in the 600 block of Hardin Street, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the residence around 1 p.m.

When they arrived they found the two suspects, ages 16 and 17, in the process of breaking into the home, a police report states.

One of the teens ran and was arrested about a block away on Cartwright Street following a brief foot pursuit. The other was arrested in the front yard of the home.

Both are facing residential burglary charges. One will also face a charge for fleeing.

The suspects were not able to get into the house before officers arrived on the scene, police said.
