A woman is in custody after a state police investigation revealed she sexually assaulted a child at a mental health facility in Fayetteville, police say.

Deidranna Wright, 21, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of first degree sexual assault. She remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Thursday on $10,000 bond.

Fayetteville police, who assisted state police in the investigation, said Wright performed a sexual act on a 17-year-old boy Nov. 12 at Vista Health’s Children’s Therapeutic Day Treatment facility on Zion Road.

An employee reported the incident to police, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Wright was not an employee at the facility, an employee told 5NEWS. Vista Health deferred all questions to its communication office, which is closed on Thanksgiving.

The Arkansas State Police informed Fayetteville police of the case on Nov. 14.

The alleged victim told police he and Wright were talking outside of a restroom during a bathroom break, when Wright took the boy into the bathroom and performed a sexual act. She came out of the bathroom laughing to the Vista Health employee who reported the incident to police, the preliminary report states.

Wright then told the employee she was going to be in trouble, and vomited in a trash can, police said.

The employee said she had asked Wright to take the alleged victim to the bathroom.

Wright denied the incident to police, saying she took the boy to the bathroom but did not engage in any sexual acts with him.
