River Valley Shoppers Cash In On Black Friday Deals

Shoppers in the River Valley headed to the stores on Black Friday.

Shoppers in the River Valley headed to the stores on Black Friday.

“It's tradition for us to go every year and they love it,” said Dale Wherry, a shopper.

Wherry and his family got up at 4 a.m. to shop. 5NEWS caught up with them at a local Best Buy store.

“Great deals on iPhones, all the electronic stuff,” said Wherry. “I mean this was one of our first stops because I mean that's what kids want these days.”

Shoppers check out the deals on DVDs, games, and televisions. Customers battle crowds to find the perfect gift.

“A lot of stuff, you get some really good prices on, so it's worth it,” said Chelsee Atkinson, a shopper.

Best Buy had 40 inch televisions on sale. Employees say those televisions sold out five minutes after the doors opened.

“Didn't really get some of the stuff I wanted, but I kind of didn't figure I would,” said Atkinson.

Some customers say they do not like Black Friday, but continue to participate every year.

“But it's where all the good deals are, so you kind of got to do it,” said Wherry.

Best Buy opened at 12 a.m. on Black Friday.

Target opened at 9 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
