Investigators Search for Fort Smith Burglary Suspects

Investigators say a Fort Smith business was burglarized over the weekend.

Investigators say a Fort Smith business was burglarized over the weekend.

“They broke into my office and broke into my secretary's office,” said Dan Clark, Superintendent at Tube City IMS.

The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video of the break-in at Tube City IMS on Monday. Investigators say the burglary happened on Saturday around 7:10 p.m.

“Somebody had to know that we weren't here,” said Clark. “It's either somebody we know or somebody we let go or something.”

Clark says the pair stole two radios and $11 cash. Investigators say the suspects pried open doors and searched offices.

“It was really random though the way that they went through things there at the office,” said Investigator Allen Tedford, with the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office.

Tedford says they are looking for a man and a woman. In the video the suspects are wearing coats, or some type of hoodie.

“We don't know who they are, but hopefully somebody out there does and can give us some help,” said Tedford.

Clark estimates it will cost the company more than $1,200 to replace the radios and fix damaged doors. “It's money out of our pocket,” he said.

Clark plans to increase security because of the break-in. He just hopes the surveillance video helps catch the alleged crooks.
