Christmas dreams came true for select local needy families from Benton County Friday morning.
It was a part of the annual Sharing and Caring 2012, an event put on in partnership with Walmart. Cars lined up outside the gates at the Benton County Fairgrounds waiting for “Santa” to come and swing the doors open at 7:30 a.m.
At that time, the hundreds of lined up cars, trucks opened wide, could line up, while the “elves” filled their trucks and backseats with holiday goodies and necessities.
The families were selected after they applied in October. Businesses from all over the county supported the organization. Those sponsors provided food baskets, turkeys, baby wipes, laundry detergent, dish detergent, toilet tissue, facial tissue, paper towels, and much more, the organization’s website said.
