The man accused of murdering a pregnant woman in LeFlore County will be arraigned on Jan. 2.

Christopher Kenyon Simpson, 26, of Fort Coffee, Okla., was bound over for trial at Tuesday’s preliminary hearing, according to Sequoyah County’s Assistant District Attorney Anthony Evans.

Evans’ office is handling the case after the LeFlore County prosecutors recused themselves due to a conflict of interest.

Court Date Set for Suspect in Pregnant Woman’s Slaying

Simpson is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the April 8 shooting of 20-year-old Ka’Loni Marie Flynn which resulted in the death of her 12-week-old fetus.

Prosecutors believe the cell phone records show Simpson called Flynn to have her meet him on a rural road outside of Pocola, Okla., where she was found dead in her car the next day.

Investigators believe Simpson was the child’s father and that he wanted Flynn to have an abortion.

Simpson has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He’s being held without bond in the LeFlore County Jail.
