The Arkansas basketball team used stellar performances from sophomore BJ Young and junior Mardracus Wade to route Northwestern State University 79-61 at Bud Walton Arena Saturday night for their fourth consecutive win.
BJ Young led all scorers with 26 points and added a career-high 13 rebounds. Mardracus Wade's four steals, six assists and season-high 17 points was one of his best performances of the season.
Arkansas led the entire game, but the Demons pulled within three midway through the second half. The Hogs closed the game on a 20-8 run as they held the nation's second highest scoring team to 25 points under their season average.
"The defense was excellent," head coach Mike Anderson said. "It was the difference in the game. We also did a great job rebounding and that is the key."
The Hogs return to action on January 5th when they host Delaware State.
