Justin Orr spent much Tuesday night and Wednesday morning trying to find it, but was unsuccessful. Just when he was about to go to all the trouble of cancelling his bank and credit cards, he got a phone call.
Allen Layes, maintenance supervisor for a local school district, tracked Orr down and told him he found the wallet at Sonic on Grand Avenue. Orr says that’s where he had dinner Tuesday night.
“Got about $80 cash and an unsigned blank rent check for this month and so the fact that he would bring that back to me, just really warmed my heart,” Orr said. “I told him, ‘Hey I can meet you anywhere for lunch,’ and he said ‘No, no, where do you work and I’ll bring it to you?’ He brought it right here to the front door and no inconvenience to me so it’s just a good reminder to start the New Year.”
Orr says as trivial as it might sound and with the all the negativity these days, this whole ordeal has restored his faith in human nature.
