Horton Leaves Arkansas For Auburn

Assistant coach takes tight ends coaching position with SEC West rival Tigers.
Tim Horton

Longtime Arkansas assistant coach Tim Horton has accepted a coaching position at Auburn.

Horton served as the Razorbacks recruiting coordinator and the running backs coach during the past five seasons. He is a former player and graduate of Arkansas.

Horton will coach tight ends at Auburn for new Tigers coach Gus Malzahn.

“Tim is a true professional and an outstanding coach and recruiter, who deserves a lot of credit for Arkansas’ success while he was there,” Malzahn said in a statement.

Horton’s relationship with high school coaches made him a favorite across Arkansas but his status was in limbo with new coach Bret Bielema and the staff he has assembled.

“It is an honor and privilege to work at Auburn University with Coach Malzahn and the tremendous group of people and coaches that he’s assembled,” Horton said.

Horton joins Malzahn and Rhett Lashlee as Auburn coaches who have Arkansas ties.
