A report of smoke in a classroom prompted firefighters, police and emergency personnel to be sent to Ledbetter Intermediate on Double Springs Road in Farmington around noon Monday.

The smoke was caused by crayons stuck in a device that sanitizes children’s toys, according to  fire official on the scene. The classroom was located in the annex.

The building was briefly evacuated and classes have since resumed.
