No one was arrested or cited after a man fled the scene of an injury accident in which a car broke through a wooden fence and lodged into the corner of a Fayetteville house.

Police found Justin Allen, 23, at a nearby friend’s home about 20 minutes after responding to an injury accident at 1010 Sherman Ave. on Wednesday afternoon. He left his injured girlfriend, Kami Ralston, at the crash scene after the silver BMW came to a stop after striking a house.

No one was home at the time of the crash, Fayetteville police said.

Ralston, 22, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from Washington Regional Medical Center on Wednesday.

Allen is on probation following a Washington County drug conviction last year. Ralston is also on probation, following a burglary conviction last year, according to Washington County Circuit Court records.

Ralston told police Allen may have been choking her just before the crash. Allen told police Ralston was driving when she suddenly passed out. He grabbed the wheel, accidentally causing the crash, Allen told investigators.

Allen said he ran from the scene, leaving Ralston behind, because he was scared and smelled smoke.

Police questioned Allen and Ralston on Wednesday. Police are not sure who was driving.

The homeowner, Daniel Ray, said he has only lived at that residence for a month-and-a-half.

Ray said the car hit the water heater, leaving him without water and electricity.

He said he couldn’t believe what he was hearing when he received the call from police.

“I was actually at work, the police called me, asked me where I lived. I told them, and they said there was a car in my house,” Ray said. “That I should get there if I wanted my belongings because it’s flooding.”

Ray had a crew help him temporarily fix the hole in the garage with plywood. He said he’s just glad his dog is ok.

Allen has been arrested in Washington County five times since 2010 on charges ranging from traffic violations to drug and theft accusations. He pleaded guilty last year to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, receiving five years probation, according to Washington County Circuit Clerk records.
