Megan Herbert is continuing to do things that have rarely been done before in the world of women’s basketball.

Herbert, a Shiloh Christian graduate, is a senior at Central Arkansas and became only the second active player in the NCAA with 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Reigning national player of the year Brittney Griner of Baylor is the other.

Herbert is just one of 57 players in NCAA history to score 2,000 career points and have 1,200 rebounds.

Herbert scored 22 points in the Sugar Bears’ 60-44 win over Northwestern State on Saturday, giving her 2,020 for in her career. That is tied for the fourth most in UCA history.

The senior entered the season averaging 18.7 points per while pulling down 11.8 rebounds per contest. Herbert has averaged 18.9 points through the first 15 games for the Sugar Bears while averaging double digit rebounds. UCA is 11-4 and a perfect 4-0 in Southland Conference play.
