A Springdale man faces three counts of aggravated assault after police said he attempted to run over his ex-wife and two small children with his SUV.
Carlos Rosales, 31, was arrested after he crashed his silver SUV into a parked car on Shelby Avenue shortly afterward, police said. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center but had not been booked as of Sunday night, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.
Police said Rosales attempted to run over his ex–wife and his two children, aged 3 and 1, as he left the parking lot at approximately 6:06 p.m. at Aldi’s on South Thompson Street. Police were then called about a rollover accident 22 minutes later on Shelby and officers determined that the SUV involved in the accident was the same one that attempted to run over the woman and two children.
Rosales was taken to Northwest Medical Center with minor injuries before being taken to jail, police said. Rosales is also facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.
